That’s up from last week’s #184,463.
Conclusion: A piteous plea on this blog is good for about 61,000 places. A big mass e-mailed “Grand Opening” posting, sans plea, plus a postcard mailing is good for ten times that much.
I’m guessing it’s like trying to hit light-speed though. It requires exponentially more effort the closer you try to get to that top spot.
If I break the 100,000 mark before year’s end I’ll throw a little cyber-party here with PayPal give-aways and naughty links.
There, let’s see what empty promises of bribery can accomplish.

UPDATE APRIL 2008: On September 24th 2006 I hit a high mark of 99,352 on the STAR Meter. My personal best. No idea why.
