A sad juxtaposition of headlines. The widow of Martin Luther King dies even as the Senate prepares to push through yet another right-wing, anti-civil rights Reagan/Bush judicial thug to the Supreme Court.
Looking at it philosophically it is some small comfort that Mrs. King didn’t live to see it or the smirking little War Criminal-in-Chief gloating about it in tonight’s state of the union speech.
I wonder if Shrub’s speech writers will have the gall to try working Alito and Mrs. King into the same sentence tonight. If that happens I hope members of my party have the character to walk out en masse.
Not holding my breath.
