Poster Purge Prevailers

The ones I’m keeping, for various reasons:

1.  A beautiful Swamp Thing piece by Michael Zulli.

2. Two Blonde Jokes posters.  Yes, two of the same poster.  Why do I have two?  Maybe I got one for free and thought I’d give it as a gift.  Someday.  Maybe I’ll give one to my blonde daughter when she turns into a horrible teenager.  Oddly enough every blonde I ever dated was smarter than me.  The brunettes were a mixed bunch and the one redhead was notable for being crazier than me.

3.  Superman Returns.  It’s mint and it’s Superman.  Rec room with pushpins maybe.

4.  Batman Returns.  See above #3.

5.  A Superman PSA poster by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez admonishing Balkan kids not to pick up unexploded shells or play in minefields.  It’s in Rumanian or something.  Great on many levels.  If it was mint I’d frame it.

6.  A Manet print of an 1881 painting featuring a barmaid with a bottle of Beck’s Beer in front of her.

7.  ”Everything I needed to know about life I learned from Star Trek.”  Rec room.

8.  Grand Kabuki at the Kennedy Center 1982.

9.  ”Comicland.”

10. Morpheus and Death by Kelly Jones

11.  Death by Chris Bachalo 1992

12.  Brief Lives by Jill Thompson 1993

13.  John Constantine by Glenn Fabry 1993

14.  A poster by my friend “R” that I can not name or discuss.

Some are going in the rec room.  Others are back in their tubes for another day.

All still have a place in my heart and my house even if my wife and kids think I’m weird.
