So I’m still unpacking from the Great Eastward Advancement and I finally got around to the eight poster tubes and assorted flat storage folders and picture boxes, many of which I haven’t opened since I packed them for LA nine years ago.
Surprises did abound. In addition to the Terminator and T-2 posters I trashed yesterday, I have chosen to divest myself of the following despite not being quite sure how the hell I ever came to own them. I expect comic shop freebies were involved. The cast-offs:
1. ”Batman and Robin.” Mint. I can’t bring myself to foist it on an innocent. Trash.
2. Dinged up “Dangerous Liasons.” Must have been a bad first attempt at shipping since I have a perfect one framed in my TV room. Awesome flick. Trash.
3. ”Something About Mary.” I liked the film but not enough to buy a not-great poster, let alone hang it in my home. Cameron Diaz is cute but, eh. Trash.
4. ”Star Trek 4 & 5.” Folded in squares, then unfolded and rolled. Unsuitable. And even if they were mint I probably wouldn’t devote wallspace to them. Not that guy anymore.
5. ”Dying Young” with Julia Roberts and Campbell Scott. I kid you not. Why the hell did I have this? Where did it come from? Where is it going? I know the answer to one out of three of these questions.
6. ”Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master.” See #5 above.
I haven’t thrown these out yet so if anyone reading this wants them let me know.
