I was born on a U.S. Army base in Stuttgart Germany, the first child of Lieutenant and Mrs. Judy.
After Dad completed his military obligation the family returned to the states and settled in the Washington, D.C. area for the next several decades.
Infancy and childhood were dispensed with as quickly as possible.
In my sophomore year of High School I took my first theatre class and got drafted into a production of “You Can’t Take It With You.” Thus did an insidious life-long addiction take hold. It’s lead to countless plays, a bit of college, more plays, and union membership with all the commercials, industrials, TV/Film that that implies.
(There have been times I’ve woken up and not even known what set I’m on. The shame…)
In late 2000 my wife and I moved out to Los Angeles. While she worked a respectable job I sent out pictures, took a bunch of classes at Groundlings and Second City and began writing a lot of stuff. Two independent films, “LA Tour Guides” and “American Clown”, ended up getting made. Then in late 2002 I joined up with the news-based sketch comedy group “Big News” as a writer/actor.
Somewhere in the middle of all that my son was born, so perfect and so amazing that I can hardly believe he’s mine, despite my wife’s assurances and DNA tests.
I became a full-time Dad while still writing and performing a new show each week. I learned to drink coffee and not stop.
Now my boy, still perfect and amazing, is in pre-school and I’ve got time on my hands.
